Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for representing Cincinnati Museum Center’s brand voice online and in social media. Additionally, the position is responsible for tracking metrics to measure the success of all digital engagement activity and initiatives. This position reports to the Manager of Digital Engagement, in the Informatics Department at Museum Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage social media process—executing digital engagement strategies via digital channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube.*
Develop monthly social media editorial calendar to guide social media activity.
Produce content for CMC video series, including storyboarding, filming and editing.
Design social media campaigns for special exhibits, OMNIMAX films and special events.
Monitor social media channels and respond to user comments/questions.
Analyze social media efforts through weekly and monthly metric evaluations, and produce executive summary for internal review.
Manage relationships with local and regional bloggers, including pitching content, organizing promotional giveaways and arranging blogger preview events.*
Generate content for Museum Center blogs.*

Secondary Responsibilities:

Capture content for social media and online publication.
Assist Manager of Digital Engagement with website—updating the online calendar. Additionally, develop themed-itineraries for website.
Produce weekly Staff & Volunteer e-newsletter.
Track social media trends and research new opportunities for Museum Center.
Monitor Museum Center’s presence on the web.

Additional Responsibilities:

Serve as Digital Engagement representative on committees as needed.
Provide digital support to key internal departments including corporate relations and marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Extensive social media experiences required, including working with various social media platforms, and digital resources; 2 years of professional experience with social media strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Strong writing skills are a must.
Enthusiastic and outgoing, with a commitment to Museum Center’s mission.
Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and enjoy interacting with people.
Proficiency in social media techniques and concepts, with the ability and eagerness to follow and adapt to social media trends.
Experience working in the digital realm (i.e. blogging, active on Twitter or other SM platforms).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. Wordpress, Drupal, etc.) strongly preferred.

Additional Information:



Full-time position, with benefits, Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends. Normal office environment.
