About TakeLessons at Best Buy
TakeLessons and Best Buy have partnered to provide an exceptional music lesson experience to customers within select Best Buy Musical Instrument stores. As a TakeLessons teacher, not only will you have an opportunity to help inspire a generation of new artists, you will also have a chance to help shape the TakeLessons music lesson program! We are looking for instructors who posses an unwavering commitment to teaching excellence and helping our students succeed, as well as an ownership/startup mentality who can help us make this program a success!
We are hiring teachers for voice, piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums. We offer private lesson rooms fully equipped with top-of-the-line equipment, competitive pay, ongoing training, and advancement opportunities. Best Buy music instrument stores are 5000 square foot rooms with single private lessons rooms for our students with the Best Buy.
Responsibilities
Provide skilled music and/or voice instruction to students ages 5 to adult
Develop customized lesson plans
Track student progress through online journals using the TakeLessons site
Make Best Buy product recommendations to customers based on their unique needs
Assist customers in utilizing in-store kiosks to schedule lessons
Be professional: on time, helpful, patient, friendly, and respectful
Maintain a consistent line of communication via phone and email
Qualifications
Able to teach beginner through advanced skill level
Commitment to students' progress and success
Bachelor's degree in music, or equivalent teaching experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level of initiative in all teaching situations
Position Details
Part-time to start with opportunity to become full-time
Hours vary by store and instrument
Compensation commensurate with education and experience. Teachers are paid flat hourly rates for time in store and bonuses for each lesson taught
