KEIBO-JUTSU (pronounced kay-e-bow jute-sue) is similar to the popular padded weapon sparring game (chanbarra) seen in sport karate tournaments in the U.S. However, Keibo-Jutsu is part of Taiho-Jutsu (Japanese Police Self-Defense) and is the actual martial art as practiced in Japan by 100,000+ members of the Japanese Police and the elite Kidotai (SWAT forces). It is also practiced by skilled practitioners of Jujitsu and Ninjitsu. Keibo techniques are based on Jutte-Jutsu (metal baton, similar to the Sai of Okinawan Kobudo, but with just one prong) and Tessen-Jutsu (Samurai Iron Fan). We are the only school in the United States that teaches this dynamic and exciting art. NO Prior Experience Needed. The Keibo is padded, so NO protective gloves are required.

YOU WILL LEARN all essential techniques, drills, targets and strategy to include: keibo against unarmed, keibo against keibo, and keibo against aikuchi (safety practice knife). A keibo (24" padded stick) is required for the seminar. You can bring your own padded weapons, or rent or purchase one at a reduced price (less than half the cost of similar chanbara weapons). ALL Keibo must be regulation size and shape. To reserve a keibo, for rental or purchase, contact the instructor here, or at Tetsudokan Jujitsu on our Facebook or Meetup page.
Sunday, 10AM - 12NOON. Seminar Fee is just $20 residents, $25 non-residents. Register EARLY at 440-953-4200 (Willoughby Parks & Recreation). Paid spectators are allowed. The Browning Center is conveniently located at 38032 Brown Ave. (off Rt. 20/Euclid Ave), just 15 minutes east of downtown Cleveland.

The master level instructor trained in Japan and is a former overseas presidential bodyguard and instructor to civilians, the military and police here and abroad. He may be reached for information at jstrans1@yahoo.com, at the Tetsudokan Jujitsu Meetup Group which he manages, at www.meetup.com/Tetsudokan-Jujitsu-Meetup-Group., and on Facebook at the Tetsudokan Jujitsu page (over 250 photos). He has taught in the Northeast Ohio area for over 30 years and he currently teaches year-round weekly classes at Lakeland Community College, as well as through the Willoughby Parks & Recreation Dept., and private classes on request.

Next Willoughby class on 5/24 - 7/05/12 (Thursdays, 6:45-8PM). Next Lakeland non-credit classes on 5/26 - 6/30/12 (Saturdays, 10-11:30AM), and 5/29 - 7/03/12 (Tuesdays, 6:30-8PM).
